Concrete Removal
The technique of "section by section removal" can eliminate debris and congestion. The cost of sawing is
usually small compared to the volume of concrete removed and time saved. Structures that are being repaired
or remodeled may be pre-cut into manageable pieces that are left in place. These pieces can then be rapidly
removed at a more convenient time with a substantial savings. The ability for a few precise cuts to free
tons of concrete make this process cost competitive.
Core Drilling
Diamond core drilling is dust-free, quiet, and capable of cutting through steel reinforcing rods with little
difficulty. Unlike rotary percussion tools, there is no vibration when core drilling, and consequently, no
structural damage, because reinforcing rods are not loosened.
Flat Sawing
Sawing horizontal surfaces has become a very sophisticated process. High powered, lightweight saws have,
over the last few years, multiplied production rates by five times. Concrete Coring of Maine has developed
specially equipped trucks and unique dispatching techniques to additionally increase production. With these
developments, the cost of sawing has been reduced to a level competitive with other removal methods. Sawing
completely through 15 inch thick, asphalt or concrete streets or bridges, is today common. Inside cutting
work accomplished with electric saws is now also routine.
Wall Sawing
The sawing of vertical concrete surfaces is one of the newest developments in the field of concrete cutting.
The dustless, vibration-free cutting ability of a wall saw with a matched diamond blade has made pneumatic
breaking obsolete. The cutting of openings in concrete walls with diamond tools causes no structural
damage. The convenience of sawing and completely removing many openings in one day cannot be accomplished
by any other method.
